Costume Information

I am happy to report that costumes for the play are coming along very well. We are working hard to make sure the kids look terrific, in period reminiscent clothing in which they can dance and really feel in character.

If you have available a free-standing garment rack, we would greatly appreciate borrowing it.

This page contains a list of items that you will need to provide for your child, per the enrollment agreement. LABEL EVERYTHING.

When at all possible, please avoid going out and buying stuff! Try to use what you have. If you are stuck and can’t find anything affordable, please call me at 408-483-2019 and I will give you the rundown on thrift shops. The Kids Shoppe (Union and Bascom) and Savers (Bascom and San Carlos) have good kid selections.

Costumes (except underclothes) will stay at school for the duration of tech week and performances, so don’t use anything that your child will need in that period.

If your child plays multiple parts or parts that will require costume changes (Annie, Hannigan, Grace, Rooster, Lily) please send them in underclothes that they can comfortably wear changing in front of others. I suggest tights or bike shorts and a tight white tank undershirt. Leotards are ok, but make bathroom breaks tricky. The boys who play Lt. Ward can wear the same pants and shoes for all their parts – they will only be changing shirts.

We will be sharing hats and scarves unless you specifically request otherwise. If you do not wish your child to share hats please let me know and we’ll note that on his/her costume sheet.

If your child plays an orphan and you would like me to tea-dye their underclothes, please put them in my hanging file (Tavernise, 3rd grade) or give them to me at rehearsal no later than April 30th.

If you have any questions, please contact me.
Thank you! Sara Tavernise, Costume Designer
